The German Equestrian Federation (FN) - A Worldwide Unique Organization

For centuries, Germany has been an expert in equestrian sport and horse breeding. Today, about 1.2 million people in Germany participate in the equestrian sport regularly and 1.1 million horses and ponies are located in the country.
The German Equestrian Federation (FN) is the largest equestrian association in the world and the only one to unite eight equestrian disciplines, as well as a breeding system, under one roof (dressage, show jumping, eventing, driving, vaulting, endurance, reining and para-equestrian). Its members include nearly 7,600 public riding and driving clubs in Germany with about 690.000 members. Additionally, 25 warmblood breeding associations with more than 50.000 breeders and nearly 4,000 private and commercial riding stables and facilities are part of the FN. More than 300,000 horses for sport and breeding and 83,000 competition riders are registered at the FN. No other country has won more medals at Olympic Game and World Championships than Germany and no other country has had as many successful horses competing – horses that were bred and born in Germany.

Hence, it is not only the size of the German equestrian scene that is the secret to success in equestrian sport, but the unique character and structure of the German Equestrian Federation and its management which takes care of all matters concerning horses. This includes the high performance competition sport, the leisure sport and the breeding of horses and ponies. All this, of course, goes hand in hand with Germany’s hundreds of years of experience, the most modern knowledge and science findings, the passion of riders and trainer, who have worked according to the Principles of Riding for many years, and the close connection to the German horse industry. “Success Made in Germany” demonstrates actively yet how efficient the German equestrian system is at work.
The FN will be a strong partner for you in any equestrian questions. If you want to know more about horse sport, breeding and the horse industry in Germany, do not hesitate to contact us at Equestrian Globe (Contact Person: Lena Rindermann at rindermann@equestrian-globe.com).
